The Riviera Casino will celebrate it’s 60th year anniversary in April of 2015. Unfortunately it is being closed down on May 4th, 2015 and then being torn down to make room for more of the Convention Center. 🙁
The city here in Las Vegas is convinced that “gaming” on the strip is going to be phased out and conventions will be the new money maker in Vegas.
I’m wondering why anyone would want to have their conventions here in the middle of the desert WITHOUT gambling.
Oh well, the last old school Vegas casino on the modern strip is The Riviera. Once it’s gone, there won’t be any of the “real” Vegas that you see on television and movies left. 🙁
Vegas is now officially nothing but a cold corporate town…
